  • What time zone are classes listed in?
    All class times are listed in Eastern Time (New York time zone). You might want to use the Time Zone Converter.
  • What are expectations from students?
    All students are expected to follow the code of conduct outlined in our Terms of Service. We rely on each student to be an active participant in class, sharing thoughts and ideas.
  • What is the duration of each class?
    The classes are 45 to 90 min long, depending on the class.
  • Are your classes interactive?
    Yes! Our classes are run in the form of interactive webinar. The students are involved in intense discussions, interacting with the instructor and other students over chat, voice and whiteboard.
  • What are the age range and average age of students?
    The classes are for self-motivated 10-13 year old students. Most of our students are 10-12 years old ( Astrobiology) , 11-13 ( Cognitive Science) and 12-14 (World-Building and Existential Risks)
  • What are prerequisites to taking the class?
    Since a significant portion of the students' interaction with teacher and classmates happens over chat, your child should be comfortable communicating via chat, and switching between Zoom, Youtube and computer lab tabs. In order to submit the homework to the Google Classroom, the participants should have a gmail account.
  • What is a typical class size?
    We usually have 8-12 students in each class, in order to provide individual attention to each child. Class registration will close when the cap for students per class is reached. Class may be canceled due to low enrollment.
  • What equipment do I need?
    You should have a good Internet connection, webcam and microphone. Please make sure that your equipment works with your Zoom settings prior to class. The participants need to have a Gmail account in order to access the Google Classroom/Homework.
  • What if I missed the previous session?
    IWe recommend that you take the sessions in the order we teach them. Please do not sign up for the Year 3 classes without taking the Year 2 classes.
  • What if I need to miss a class?
    Our classes provide a lot of flexibility. If you are not able to attend, you are welcome to join any class of the same level that week. The Sunday classes cannot be made up.
  • Is there any homework?
    There is an optional, ungraded homework assignment for each class. The focus of the homework is on hands-on activities, and helping the student to develop a scientific portfolio. The longer projects may serve as inspiration for a science fair research project. The students are welcome to share the results of their homework, including photo and video, with the instructor, over Google Classroom.
  • Are there any grades or completion certificates?
    There are no grades or certificates, but we may provide a short report for the parents after the course, per parent's request.
  • What is the difference between years 1, 2 and 3?"

  • Do you teach international students?
    Yes, we have students and instructors from many countries, and offer time slots suited for international timezones.
  • Do you accept private groups of students?
    Yes, we do. If you want us to teach your group, please reach out to us so that we can agree on a schedule for the classes.
  • What are your language options?
    In addition to English, we offer an experimental classes in Russian, Ukrainian, Spanish, Hindi, Turkish and Urdu. If you are interested in exploring this option, please get in touch with us.
  • What is your refund policy?
    If after the first class you decide that the course is not for you, we will gladly provide a full refund. After the second class, the fee is non-refundable. Please see our terms of service for more details.
